Whew, 1993 kids are them knees cracking yet 😂 I turned 30 this past November and let me say this.. IT REALLY DON’T FEEL THAT MUCH DIFFERENT !
Something about turning 30 always scared the sh*t out of me. I just always believed as a child once you hit that age, you’re part of the old lady gang 😩. How ridiculous lol .
. Every year since year 27 I feel like I’ve grown in tremendous ways. I know thirty is going to be my best year yet. It’s something about crossing that threshold from 29-30 that makes you feel like I’M HERE, I ARRIVED, you know? I feel a lot more confident and ready for the challenges that is going to come my way because regardless of what age we are that is one thing that inevitable.
I use to think the 20’s were your prime years when really, it’s ghetto over there lmao. Like, you’re literally struggling most of your 20’s if not all (lucky you). Whether you’re a broke college student figuring it out, a young mom dealing with the struggle of having a new baby, or even somebody who is blessed enough to have it somewhat figured out, it’s still a struggle.
This post is all about embracing your 30th Birthday
Your 20’s is literally meant for you to fall, and fall, and fall a little harder, get back up, then fall down again; because those falls are what’s going to prepare you for the next decade of your life and beyond. The breakups and lost friendships may feel like the end of the world in the moment (It hurts soooo bad), but I promise you you’ll look back at it, thankful that you’ve gone and GROWN through it early
on so you won’t be that 32 year old who can’t handle letdowns and ends up taking it out on the people around them (we all know one, maybe even two 😉 people like this). I say look at it this way, your 30’s is quite literally everything you believe your 20’s will be. I mean, I know I’ve only been here for a couple of months lol but ask ya favorite aunty or cousin. Trust me.
My 20’s were some of the funnest times but also some of the most heartbreaking and eye opening times. I’m thankful to have gone through it then cause now I know better so I do better. Sometimes life hands you the shittiest lemons but that doesn’t mean you still can’t make lemonade with them. That’s literally the epitome of being in your 20”s is. Be thankful for the pain, the experiences and the memories. Like my good sis Sza once said, “Good luck on them 20 something’s, but god bless them 20 something’s” Embrace this decade with open arms, you never know what may come from it!
